About Daniel “Spanky” Pérez

Pérez is an amateur photojournalist from Dover, New Jersey. Pérez discovered his love for photography at age 17 when he started taking photos at family gatherings. A graduate of St. John’s University with a degree in photojournalism, Pérez served as a staff photographer for student lead paper, The Torch. In the summer of 2019, Pérez interned at Sharp Electronics to work on their 8k video camera project. Pérez also studied abroad in Italy at St John's Rome campus during the fall of 2019. Pérez is a member and co-founder of an artist collective known as Lowland. Pérez photographs sports, music, weddings, photojournalism, street photography, food, and portraiture.
